– Wayne Rooney has slammed social media antics of Man United stars and said they are hiding
– The Englishman explained that players need to start fearing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
– Manchester United players failed to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has spoken on his former club after their unimpressive performance last season which made them not qualify for next Champions League.
The Old Trafford club ended the 2018/19 Premier League season with eight losses from their final 12 games.
Wayne Rooney is now of the opinion that players need to start fearing and respecting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff before the start of the new season.
He added that watching Manchester United struggling for games last season was tough for him and wants to see changes.
”You have got players losing a game and posting something on social media about their new clothing range, their new aftershave, whatever they’re bringing out, which I find remarkable.
”When fans speak up on it and say “why are you posting that?” they always have the marketing people to blame [but] take responsibility.
‘They work for you. Those marketing people work for you. I have people who do similar stuff for me and they never do anything without my instructions.
”If that is what you’re doing, you’re sitting at the top of that business. You have to take responsibility for them.
”These players almost always like to find someone to hide behind, whether that is on their social media or on the football pitch and that’s what they are doing,” Rooney was quoted to have said by Daily Mail UK.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney enjoined the management of the club to hire Argentine football coach Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s next permanent manager.
Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United chief, and he has been replaced with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who began his reign as manager on a winning note.
