LIVE: Tottenham 0-1 Ajax FT

Dutch giants Ajax on Tuesday night, April 30, recorded their first ever win over Tottenham in the Champions League as they defeated Spurs 1-0 in front of their faithfuls.

The encounter was in the 2018/19 Champions League semifinal first leg encounter played at the Tottenham stadium.

Donny van De Beek scored the only goal for Ajax in the 15th minute, and it was Hakim Ziyech who provided the assist for him.

Trippier is sent into space down the right by Eriksen, but his cross is too long and easily mopped up by van de Beek who cleared the danger for Ajax

Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez sends a long pass from the back hoping it would get to one of his teammates, but Onana comes out quickly to catch the ball

After conceding a goal, Spurs are now trying to get an equalizer with Dele Alli and Lucas Moura combining well together up front

Ajax defender Veltmen gifts Alli the ball out on the Spurs left, then hauls his man down in a panic and the referee wasted no time to give Spurs a free kick

Tottenham star Moura tries to score from a direct free kick, but he misses

Ajax make their first change of the night against Tottenham and it is Schone going out and is replaced by Mazraoui.

Tottenham striker Dele Alli delivers a good pass for Rose whose effort was cleared away from danger by Daley Blind

Tottenham star Danny Rose passes the ball in the box, but it’s intercepted by De Jong as Spurs pus forward looking for a goal

Eriksen works the ball left for Rose who strides into the box and shoots and it looks good before Veltman comes across and times his block perfectly

80’ — Chance for Spurs

Spurs’ Dele Alli tries to play a 1-2 with Fernando Llorente, but the ball is intercepted by Blind who has been superb for Ajax in this match

85’ — Wasted chance by Spurs

Space for Sissoko on the right and his cross is decent, but Llorente doesn’t attack it which makes it an easy catch for Ajax goalie Onana

90’ — And that is it as the referee ends the match

The referee blows the final whistle as Ajax recorded an incredible victory over Tottenham

1-0 it ended.
