Also confirmed is the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC nominee, Mr. Samuel Okechukwu Ngene, former Enugu South Council Chairman.

On Monday, Gov. Ugwuanyi submitted the names of Engr. Aloysius Sunday Ogbodo; Mr. Geoffrey Emeka Ede and Dr. Fintain Chukwunwike Ekochin to the Enugu state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

One of the commissioner designates cleared by the House, Mr. Geoffrey Edeh, was a member of the Enugu state independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, before his appointment thereby making room for Mr. Sam Ngene to be appointed to replace him.

Their confirmation followed a stiff grilling by the members of the House who threw barrage of questions which were answered satisfactorily by the confirmed nominees.

One of the nominees, Dr. Ekochin, especially dazzled the House members with the way he answered the questions posed to him.

In short he gave lectures on the problems that beset the tertiary health institution to include lack of adequate primary health institutions thereby overstretching the facilities at the tertiary  health institutions.

He explained that why it seems that patients are dying at Park Lane Hospital is not as a result of lack of competence or expertice but that the doctors work so much to the extent that they even make mistakes.

Dr. Ekochin suggested that biotechnology should be employed in treatment of ailments in the state pointing out that it is necessary that youth are trained on biotechnology.
